Buddha and Jesus (and Mother Teresa) were rarely alone except during spiritual tests. Once awakened, enlightenment is about coming down off the mountain and doing the work of being part of humanity and bringing everyone else up to the next level of consciousness alongside you. It is easy to stay in the cave. Dealing with people and the challenges of an imperfect world is the real test of "spirituality".
